Is money worth more than a person!!!!

We in the last couple of weeks I have been called a socialist which is right and wrong. But isn't everybody in America a little bit of a socialist. If you do not think that you and that socialism is the evil that this generation needs to fight then you are wrong at least on some level. Fist of all it seems every time a new theory comes in to the world on how run a country america opposes it even if there is good in the system. The 1930's fight against fascism, the 1950-1990 fight against communism and now the 2009 fight against socialism. The first two wars or fights made since those systems would of disrupted american life but with socialism it is something we have already since the birth of the country. Here is a list of socialist programs america has in place.

Public Schools
State University's/College
Federal Grants
Discount/free lunch in schools
Affordable Housing
Fire stations/Fireman
Police officers
Public Transportation
Welfare
Social Security
Medicare
Medicaid
Chip
Roads
National Forest
State/Federal parks
Military/National Defense
Library

Well there is almost 20 things that we pay for already if you pay taxes and if you use anyone of these many things you should not complain about the government trying to make Universal Health care. It is just a new system that will work if we back it and make sure it works. Let us make sure are taxes are being used to help us.

PS. Please stop supporting Glen Beck, Sean Hannity, and any other right wing nut job. They are only lieing to you.

Red is for winners

Since football season is upon us we have to wonder what is going through peoples heads who wear my University of Utah Utes rival shirts, or hats. Those who are not from utah or not a mormon you might not know that one of the biggest and heated rivalry in america is Utah BYU. So I wonder why people who attend the University of Utah are wearing BYU apparel at the school that is there biggest rival. Again people you go to the U I understand if you did your undergrad at BYU you have a tie to the school but if you are not you should of went to BYU. Also everyone who is at Utah Valley University (UVSC for me) please stop wearing you BYU appearel just because you are mormon you do not need to support a school who did not want you and does not want anything to do with your school. You are going to UVU who has a basketball team who plays against BYU so support your team.
Also for all the BYU fans in Utah county GO UTES!!!!!!

Trains, planes, and Idiots

So as I write this I am sitting on the Trax line in the wonderful city of Salt Lake City heading to school at the University of Utah. I ride the train every day but friday so I have had a lot of experience on trains and have found some problems with the people who I ride with. As credentials I spent a couple of years riding the train systems of Tokyo and Yokohama in the fine country of Japan so I have been on some crowded trains. So this year the schedule has changed and there are more trains that go direct between Sandy and the University (sorry non-Utah people) so the trains I take have become more crowded than last year and I have heard the complaints of my fellow rider about the trains which are it is too crowded, there are not enough cars and so on. So I have a list of things people should do to make the train experience better.
1. Buy a ticket!!!!!!!!!!
2. Please follow the rules posted on the train.
3. If you plan on bringing a bike plan on missing the train if you get on after the court house stop. There are too many people with bikes getting on before the hill.
4. Please don't be afraid to sit by somebody you do know they won't hurt you. Well they might but probably not.
5. Again buy a ticket!!!!!
6. If there is no place to sit get close to the others that are next to you. You won't believe how many people you can get on a train if we all get close.
7. But you backpack on the floor and between your legs so that it does not take up more space again we need to get close.
8. Students hit your pass on the stand so it can track you and assign more trains to your specific route.
9. Please don't talk on your cell phones loudly we all can hear.
Well that is all for right now I will add more as needed. Please follow the rules and ride the train it is nice and you never know who you will meet.

If Reagan did it we would all watch

As people know there is going to be a brodcast the first of it kind by our Commander and Chief President Barack Obama on Tuesday over the internet to the children of the nation. however in my home town and in towns across the nation people who think that the President of the United States of America does not have the power or the knowledge to talk to the children. About educatuion none the less he is the president we all should listen not just the kids. But critics of the address, such as Oklahoma Sen. Steve Russell, a Republican, said: “It gives the appearance of creating a cult of personality … something you’d expect to see in North Korea or in Saddam Hussein’s Iraq.” He is our President and was voted by the people in big numbers. (( http://elections.nytimes.com/2008/results/president/map.html ) see map if you don't believe me.) so why would you not think that he would help your children and the education system of America the place we all love and cherish. He is not a communist, he is not a socialist, Barack Obama is an American and we need to respect what he does and not bad mouth him with false claims. Always question your government but do it with research that is not from fox news (the most bios news channel in this country). Also think to yourself if Ronald Reagan or George Bush were going to talk to the kids would you of allowed your kids to watch?????

Since I am sick of people talking bad about our President before he has even been in the White House a year I am posting a wed site which shows the what the last President was like and I will let you deside. http://www.punkvoter.com/dls/dls.php please look and see you will be suprised.

Why are We scared of the Future

There are a lot of you that think this country is going in the wrong direction. You know who you are... But I have heard from a lot of people that they are scared this country is turning into a socialist government. First of all everybody who went to public school or a state college or university, likes that there is a person who will fight a fire when the time comes, or ever feels safe when they see a police officer on patrol you need to remember that these things are all part of the nice socialist/capitalistic government that we all love. since we have public education and a fire crew and police force who are paid by taxes and everyone no matter their rank in society gets the same treatment as the next person. The worry now is that the universal health care system that is used in most of the 1st world countries in this big world will cross the 2 big oceans and take over the country that does have a universal health care system for the people that are over 65 years of age. The people that use medicare are all taking money from one pot and using what they need just like in every other country that has universal health care. we should not fear something that is always being used in this country for the elderly. we should be looking at the way our taxes are being used. As an American that pays a lot of taxes I would love to see my money go to causes that are going to help me and health care is one of the ways that i would like to use my tax dollars. as shown in the clip from It is Always Sunny in Philadelphia it shows the way that i feel about our system as it is currently. please watch and enjoy.

People in Utah and the Red Sox

I am from Utah as most of you know and I love sports. I am not a fanatic but not a casual observer either and i know of the success of the sports teams in Boston the last couple of years. knowing this and being from Utah I see everything Boston. Boston hats, Boston stickers on the back of cars, and the Boston t-shirts, jerseys and everything else that can be sold so that a team from across the country can make a buck. I know what you are saying this always happens when a team starts to win (I did grow up in the Micheal Jordan years of basketball and the Brave era of baseball) people are going to jump on the band wagon and love whatever team they can see winning a title. but the last couple of years there has been this thing for Boston. The Patriots, the Celtics and the Red Sox are all over all everything even in the west even though the Bruins are never mentioned poor poor Bruins.
I mean we should have pride in sports that is one thing that never changes in this world is sports. But there is one thing that I need to say with all of the sports team and towns in the world we need to stay out of Boston. yes you might say New York and L. A. are big names too but the Yankees win and have won since the day they started and L. A. is close enough you could go watch an game and still be back to Utah in one weekend.
This is also a problem because it takes away from the Jazz we have a team in Utah that has been in the playoffs of most of the last two decades and people will still wear Celtics stuff rather than the Jazz. please support the Jazz they are the only team that we have and if we support them we might get bigger and better players and also maybe even a football or baseball team.

Please Save a Couple of TV Shows

This is not about all TV shows only the ones that are worth watching. I am sorry if you like the talent shows but it is killing TV as we know it. There are a lot of shows that are on TV every year and we let them fall to the wayside without even watching them. First let me say that i am very sad that Pushing Daisy's got canceled before the entire season was even shown. this brings me to my point that there are a lot of shows that are on right now that are worth your time that need to be watched. here is my list and a brief description why you should watch.

1st show is The Big Bang Theory a show about 4 geeks that live across the hall from a bomb shell of a girl and wackiness ensures as thy do their geeky things while Penny the girl from across the hall watches and learns from the guys. Monday nights CBS (check local listings for time)

2nd show is a new comedy that is airing on ABC on Wednesday which is called Better Off Ted this show is about a corporation that invents things like meat that did not come from a cow, a light sensor that works by reflecting the light off of the skin the problem is it does not work for Black People so they hired minimum wage white people to follow them around. This show is going to go away without your help. Please help.

Please help these shows so that we have more than one season of wonderful television. We were too late to save shows like Pushing Daises but we can save these wonderful shows.

Wal-Mart keeping the smut from the children

I love movies more than a lot of things in this blessed world.  I have a collection of DVDs that would take me more than one year if I were watching one per day.  So as you can see  I have a little experience in buying DVDs from places which does include Wal-Mart on occasion (those 5 dollar DVDs are hard to pass up sometimes).  However sometimes I run into the problem of having to buy a DVD that is rates higher than PG-13. I know that is my first problem is watching those dirty movies but I can not help it.  But when I buy a DVD at Wal-Mart that is rated higher than PG-13 I have to show that I am over the age of 17 and if it is at the self checkout lanes I have to wait for a teller to come put in a code so that I can scan the DVD.  This might not be a problem for most people but when my collection of 400+ DVDs is made up almost half of these filthy movies I tend to run into this problem a lot.  The funny thing is that I only run into this problem when I go to Wal-Mart which I think is funny.  A couple of years ago I wrote a paper on the MPAA and CARA who are the people that rate the movie that are shown in theaters in America.  These companies were established in1968 to keep the government out of rating movies.  They also have said that the movie rating system is only suppose to be used by people with kids.  So if you are over 18 and do not have kids you should not pay any attention to this system.  In my opinion and since you are reading this you are interested in my opinion if the rating system is for parents of children 17 years and younger a corporation should not be the ones that enforce the rules.  I am sick of wanting to use the self checkout at a Wal-Mart and have to wait for a teller to punch in the code and even sometimes check my ID to make sure that i am over 18.  If it is a NATO owned theater I understand because they want to keep showing movies but a store should not be so worried about people buying all of the smut that is out there.

P.S. For more information about the system I can send you a paper on the subject, you can watch This Film is Not Rated, or just check out the MPAA/CARA website.

Children and the U.S. Goverment

I am a 23 year old single white male who is also a college student who got back a tax return that was less than I thought was fair.  Because I do not have any kids and pay for my own tuition. Right now I take nothing from government other than national security (HA HA HA) so why do I pay so much in taxes when I take nothing from this wonderful government.  When I look at the kids my age that have kids of their own I see that they get money back even though their tuition is being paid for by the government, and their kids are going to go to school which is paid for by my tax dollars.  This is just not people that are in college that pay less in taxes but all people that have kids get tax breaks for the kids that are using so much money in the public school system.  Don't get me wrong my dad is a school teacher and I understand where some of the money that I pay in taxes go towards, however it does not make sense that all of the people that have kids in the public school system get money back even though they are taking more money out of the system.  You think that the government would see the flaw in the system and take action.  But every year the government keeps giving out the money but why you might ask?  I think that I have an answer it might be a little strange but I think it is true.   One thing that the government can not buy is baby's that will grow up to become military personnel.  Because more baby's make more people that can fight for a given country that make it easier for a country to control the world and keep their people safe.  So you see the pattern when you get the tax credit for having kids and then these kids grow up that means a bigger pool that the government can choose from if a draft is ever needed but lets hope that this never happens and we all can live in peace.

Watchmen

Just saw the movie that was based on the book Watchmen. WOW what a wonderful movie. Although if you have not Read the Graphic Novel that was written by the genius/crackpot Alan Moore you might not like the movie and probably will not understand what is going on. There is little back story and somethings are just left out. So sorry people you need to read something that is a comic book but the movie is worth the read I promise and the millions of other people who have read it will tell you the same thing. Please read and please see the movie but be warned it is violent, bloody and does have some scenes of people making love.

Now to change to another topic I read comic books and I am 23 almost 24 years old. Yes this is a kid thing I know, that is what you all keep telling me. First if you have not picked up a comic book in your life time you should because they are good and if you have just not read one since you were a kid I suggest you start looking back into it.

Back to Watchmen. If another person says that they do not want to watch another superhero movie let me remind you that if you have not read Watchmen first please do not judge and second Watchmen is about vigulanties not about superheros other than Dr. Manhattan there is not one person in the book that even has super powers. They are people like Batman, Punisher, and Ironman. Superheros are like Superman, Spiderman, and the Fantastic Four.

Thanks for taking the time to read and here is a quote for your time

Please stop with the Obama emails

Well there are a lot of things that I could start with but lets start when I got up this morning I Thought to myself it is nice that I am able to get an hour more sleep on a school day which was nice.
But that is where all of this blogging stuff begins. I was burning a DVD of This Divided State for a friend and I remember hearing some Sean Hannity where he was talking about Barack Obama and the way that he is running the country. although it is only his first couple of months in office Sean Hannity said that he is trying to change things to fast and that he is running the country into the ground. When i think of This Divided State I remember all of the republicans saying that any person that says anything bad against the president should be held for treason. But now these same people are saying things about President Obama that by their standards during the Bush Era would be an act of treason. Also it is not just the national leaders that are guilty of this please all of the people that think it is cool to send emails about the president that are not appropriate just because you are a republican. President Obama has done nothing that should offend you so far other than being "Black" or a Democrat so lay off the man and remember when you told me I was anti American for voting for Obama, and not caring for the policies that Former President Bush put into place that you are now doing the same thing.

Thank you for your time and hope you read again.
