So as I write this I am sitting on the Trax line in the wonderful city of Salt Lake City heading to school at the University of Utah. I ride the train every day but friday so I have had a lot of experience on trains and have found some problems with the people who I ride with. As credentials I spent a couple of years riding the train systems of Tokyo and Yokohama in the fine country of Japan so I have been on some crowded trains. So this year the schedule has changed and there are more trains that go direct between Sandy and the University (sorry non-Utah people) so the trains I take have become more crowded than last year and I have heard the complaints of my fellow rider about the trains which are it is too crowded, there are not enough cars and so on. So I have a list of things people should do to make the train experience better.
1. Buy a ticket!!!!!!!!!!
2. Please follow the rules posted on the train.
3. If you plan on bringing a bike plan on missing the train if you get on after the court house stop. There are too many people with bikes getting on before the hill.
4. Please don't be afraid to sit by somebody you do know they won't hurt you. Well they might but probably not.
5. Again buy a ticket!!!!!
6. If there is no place to sit get close to the others that are next to you. You won't believe how many people you can get on a train if we all get close.
7. But you backpack on the floor and between your legs so that it does not take up more space again we need to get close.
8. Students hit your pass on the stand so it can track you and assign more trains to your specific route.
9. Please don't talk on your cell phones loudly we all can hear.
Well that is all for right now I will add more as needed. Please follow the rules and ride the train it is nice and you never know who you will meet.
