Why are We scared of the Future

There are a lot of you that think this country is going in the wrong direction. You know who you are... But I have heard from a lot of people that they are scared this country is turning into a socialist government. First of all everybody who went to public school or a state college or university, likes that there is a person who will fight a fire when the time comes, or ever feels safe when they see a police officer on patrol you need to remember that these things are all part of the nice socialist/capitalistic government that we all love. since we have public education and a fire crew and police force who are paid by taxes and everyone no matter their rank in society gets the same treatment as the next person. The worry now is that the universal health care system that is used in most of the 1st world countries in this big world will cross the 2 big oceans and take over the country that does have a universal health care system for the people that are over 65 years of age. The people that use medicare are all taking money from one pot and using what they need just like in every other country that has universal health care. we should not fear something that is always being used in this country for the elderly. we should be looking at the way our taxes are being used. As an American that pays a lot of taxes I would love to see my money go to causes that are going to help me and health care is one of the ways that i would like to use my tax dollars. as shown in the clip from It is Always Sunny in Philadelphia it shows the way that i feel about our system as it is currently. please watch and enjoy.

  1. Well Senor Hart, let's take a look at your argument from a health care providers standpoint since that is where I fit in the world. First, many health problems people bring upon themselves, such as the obesity epidemic and given the fact that heart disease is the number one killer in our country. If people took care of themselves and didn't kill themselves off by overeating, not exercising / trying to maintain their health, not partaking of drugs/alcohol, and engaging in high risk behaviors, health care wouldn't be the booming market that it is. It is because people damage themselves to a point where they need help or can't fix their problems themselves that they seek medical help.
Second, becoming a health care provider costs a fortune! I paid about 4 times the tuition and other expenses that other people do to get their degree, and we have to be able to pay for our school somehow because we sure can't pay for it up front unless we're born into a rich family.
Third, if you've ever had to pay for health care for yourself, you would know your premium adjusts depending on your personal physical health and risk factors. I also feel that health insurance is expensive and feels unnecessary when a person is relatively healthy, but accidents happen and we also end up paying for other morons' accidents with our tax dollars. The problem is that American citizens would rather pay $200 plus dollars a month for a fancy phone / car / other fancy gadget to show off to their friends rather than cover the necessities of life. Life comes with a price; America has some of the best health care technologies in the world, but they don't come cheap or by giving everyone free handouts.

Oh, by the way, rank in society does determine how people are treated. Politicians and other bigwigs / CEOs get treated a wee bit better than the rest of us middle-classers! It's more "He with the deepest pockets / fanciest lawyer gets to do whatever He pleases, while the rest of us can't break laws or we get incarcerated."

  2. Who the hell fears the possibility of free health care? If anything, should we not be excited about it? Oh wait, there will never be anything as free health care and it's an idealistic viewpoint that wouldn't work out. When things become "free," and I use that word loosely because there is always a price (even if it turns out Americans gets taxed up our ass), everyone will take advantage of it and the cost wouldn't be worth it. You know what the ratio would turn out from citizens needing health care to doctors? 1,000,000: 1. Then what?

Health care is far too complex to toy with such as handing it away free. You are basically asking for doctors to leave their career field and to go into something more profitable.

You don't seem very educated if you think that a person's health care ought to be free. Do you realize just how many things can go wrong/malfunction during a surgery? Consuming the wrong meds? Consuming too many meds? Now you're asking that we give these things away free, like a physician's Halloween. You have no idea what the consequences are, do you?

If you're so accommodating and "communual," so to speak, why don't you donate your earned money to the Red Cross? Do you do that? Do you donate to charities all of the time, they will take anything and it's for a good purpose? Yes, pretend every month that $200 of your salary is taxed for health care and give it away to provide to strangers. See how you like it.

    Think before you speak.
