Is money worth more than a person!!!!

We in the last couple of weeks I have been called a socialist which is right and wrong. But isn't everybody in America a little bit of a socialist. If you do not think that you and that socialism is the evil that this generation needs to fight then you are wrong at least on some level. Fist of all it seems every time a new theory comes in to the world on how run a country america opposes it even if there is good in the system. The 1930's fight against fascism, the 1950-1990 fight against communism and now the 2009 fight against socialism. The first two wars or fights made since those systems would of disrupted american life but with socialism it is something we have already since the birth of the country. Here is a list of socialist programs america has in place.

Public Schools
State University's/College
Federal Grants
Discount/free lunch in schools
Affordable Housing
Fire stations/Fireman
Police officers
Public Transportation
Welfare
Social Security
Medicare
Medicaid
Chip
Roads
National Forest
State/Federal parks
Military/National Defense
Library

Well there is almost 20 things that we pay for already if you pay taxes and if you use anyone of these many things you should not complain about the government trying to make Universal Health care. It is just a new system that will work if we back it and make sure it works. Let us make sure are taxes are being used to help us.

PS. Please stop supporting Glen Beck, Sean Hannity, and any other right wing nut job. They are only lieing to you.

Red is for winners

Since football season is upon us we have to wonder what is going through peoples heads who wear my University of Utah Utes rival shirts, or hats. Those who are not from utah or not a mormon you might not know that one of the biggest and heated rivalry in america is Utah BYU. So I wonder why people who attend the University of Utah are wearing BYU apparel at the school that is there biggest rival. Again people you go to the U I understand if you did your undergrad at BYU you have a tie to the school but if you are not you should of went to BYU. Also everyone who is at Utah Valley University (UVSC for me) please stop wearing you BYU appearel just because you are mormon you do not need to support a school who did not want you and does not want anything to do with your school. You are going to UVU who has a basketball team who plays against BYU so support your team.
Also for all the BYU fans in Utah county GO UTES!!!!!!

Trains, planes, and Idiots

So as I write this I am sitting on the Trax line in the wonderful city of Salt Lake City heading to school at the University of Utah. I ride the train every day but friday so I have had a lot of experience on trains and have found some problems with the people who I ride with. As credentials I spent a couple of years riding the train systems of Tokyo and Yokohama in the fine country of Japan so I have been on some crowded trains. So this year the schedule has changed and there are more trains that go direct between Sandy and the University (sorry non-Utah people) so the trains I take have become more crowded than last year and I have heard the complaints of my fellow rider about the trains which are it is too crowded, there are not enough cars and so on. So I have a list of things people should do to make the train experience better.
1. Buy a ticket!!!!!!!!!!
2. Please follow the rules posted on the train.
3. If you plan on bringing a bike plan on missing the train if you get on after the court house stop. There are too many people with bikes getting on before the hill.
4. Please don't be afraid to sit by somebody you do know they won't hurt you. Well they might but probably not.
5. Again buy a ticket!!!!!
6. If there is no place to sit get close to the others that are next to you. You won't believe how many people you can get on a train if we all get close.
7. But you backpack on the floor and between your legs so that it does not take up more space again we need to get close.
8. Students hit your pass on the stand so it can track you and assign more trains to your specific route.
9. Please don't talk on your cell phones loudly we all can hear.
Well that is all for right now I will add more as needed. Please follow the rules and ride the train it is nice and you never know who you will meet.

If Reagan did it we would all watch

As people know there is going to be a brodcast the first of it kind by our Commander and Chief President Barack Obama on Tuesday over the internet to the children of the nation. however in my home town and in towns across the nation people who think that the President of the United States of America does not have the power or the knowledge to talk to the children. About educatuion none the less he is the president we all should listen not just the kids. But critics of the address, such as Oklahoma Sen. Steve Russell, a Republican, said: “It gives the appearance of creating a cult of personality … something you’d expect to see in North Korea or in Saddam Hussein’s Iraq.” He is our President and was voted by the people in big numbers. (( http://elections.nytimes.com/2008/results/president/map.html ) see map if you don't believe me.) so why would you not think that he would help your children and the education system of America the place we all love and cherish. He is not a communist, he is not a socialist, Barack Obama is an American and we need to respect what he does and not bad mouth him with false claims. Always question your government but do it with research that is not from fox news (the most bios news channel in this country). Also think to yourself if Ronald Reagan or George Bush were going to talk to the kids would you of allowed your kids to watch?????

Since I am sick of people talking bad about our President before he has even been in the White House a year I am posting a wed site which shows the what the last President was like and I will let you deside. http://www.punkvoter.com/dls/dls.php please look and see you will be suprised.

Why are We scared of the Future

There are a lot of you that think this country is going in the wrong direction. You know who you are... But I have heard from a lot of people that they are scared this country is turning into a socialist government. First of all everybody who went to public school or a state college or university, likes that there is a person who will fight a fire when the time comes, or ever feels safe when they see a police officer on patrol you need to remember that these things are all part of the nice socialist/capitalistic government that we all love. since we have public education and a fire crew and police force who are paid by taxes and everyone no matter their rank in society gets the same treatment as the next person. The worry now is that the universal health care system that is used in most of the 1st world countries in this big world will cross the 2 big oceans and take over the country that does have a universal health care system for the people that are over 65 years of age. The people that use medicare are all taking money from one pot and using what they need just like in every other country that has universal health care. we should not fear something that is always being used in this country for the elderly. we should be looking at the way our taxes are being used. As an American that pays a lot of taxes I would love to see my money go to causes that are going to help me and health care is one of the ways that i would like to use my tax dollars. as shown in the clip from It is Always Sunny in Philadelphia it shows the way that i feel about our system as it is currently. please watch and enjoy.

People in Utah and the Red Sox

I am from Utah as most of you know and I love sports. I am not a fanatic but not a casual observer either and i know of the success of the sports teams in Boston the last couple of years. knowing this and being from Utah I see everything Boston. Boston hats, Boston stickers on the back of cars, and the Boston t-shirts, jerseys and everything else that can be sold so that a team from across the country can make a buck. I know what you are saying this always happens when a team starts to win (I did grow up in the Micheal Jordan years of basketball and the Brave era of baseball) people are going to jump on the band wagon and love whatever team they can see winning a title. but the last couple of years there has been this thing for Boston. The Patriots, the Celtics and the Red Sox are all over all everything even in the west even though the Bruins are never mentioned poor poor Bruins.
I mean we should have pride in sports that is one thing that never changes in this world is sports. But there is one thing that I need to say with all of the sports team and towns in the world we need to stay out of Boston. yes you might say New York and L. A. are big names too but the Yankees win and have won since the day they started and L. A. is close enough you could go watch an game and still be back to Utah in one weekend.
This is also a problem because it takes away from the Jazz we have a team in Utah that has been in the playoffs of most of the last two decades and people will still wear Celtics stuff rather than the Jazz. please support the Jazz they are the only team that we have and if we support them we might get bigger and better players and also maybe even a football or baseball team.
